Rubies are pinkish red to blood-red colored gemstones, a variety of the corundum mineral (aluminum oxide).
Spinel is often found along with rubies in the same gem gravel or marble, and may be mistaken for rubies.
Zoisite, first known as saualpite, is a calcium aluminum hydroxy sorosilicate belonging to the epidote group.
Blue Zoisite is known as tanzanite.
Ruby Zoisite is simply Zoisite with some ruby in it.
