Rose Quartz is pink or rosy due to trace amount of titanium, iron or manganese. Some rose quartz contain microscopic rutile needles that produce asterism in transmitted light.
There is also a rare type of pink quartz, called crystalline rose quartz, with color that is thought to be caused by trace amounts of phosphate or aluminum.
