Jasper is an aggregate of micro granular quartz and/or chalcedony. An opaque rock of any color stemming from the mineral content of the original sediments or ash.
Ocean Jasper is a type of Orbicular Jasper found in Madagascar.
Ocean Jasper is not a “true Jasper” because it is actually Rhyolite (a type of igneous rock).
Ocean Jasper is actually a combination of Quartz and Feldspar, with lots of other trace minerals to give it is colorful look.
