Mexican Crazy Lace Agate, also known as Mexican Agate, is a banded chalcedony that’s infused with iron and aluminum. It produces a variety of colors from creamy browns, blacks, grey and golds to occasional pinks and reds, all swirled together within the stone. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony primarily formed within volcanic and metamorphic rocks. Agate is colored by the concentration of iron and amount of oxidation within the crystal.
