Spodumeme is a pyroxene mineral consisting of lithium, aluminum and silicate. It occurs as big colorless to yellowish, purplish or lilac kunzite, yellowish-green or emerald-green hiddenite, prismatic crystals.
Hiddenite is a pale, emerald-green gem variety of Spodumene. The color is by chromium, like emeralds. However, the light green colored-Spodumenes are not true hiddenite as they are not colored with chromium.
