Hessonite Garnet is a common grossular (calcium-aluminum) garnet also known as cinnamon-stone.
Hessonite Garnets come from Sri Lanka and India where it is in found in placer deposits, but its occurrence in its native matrix is somewhere else (we don’t know where yet). It is also found in Brazil and California.
