Jasper is an aggregate of micro granular quartz and/or chalcedony. An opaque rock of any color stemming from the mineral content of the original sediments or ash.
Bumblebee Jasper is not a “true Jasper” as it is a rare limestone, made of calcite and volcanic ash. The white/gray color is Calcite, the yellow/orange color is Realgar (not sulfur), and the black layers are Pyrite. The rock does contain trace amounts of Sulfur but has been lab-verified as Realgar (Attard and Petrov, 2017).
