Blue Lace Agate has iron, manganese, nickel, titanium and other minerals, causing the swirl and loop patterns. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony primarily formed within volcanic and metamorphic rocks. Agate is colored by the concentration of iron and amount of oxidation within the crystal.
