Blue Aragonite is a calcium carbonate. It is a polymorph of calcite, meaning it has the same chemical formula but different crystal structure. It is orthorhombic and has a translucent to opaque appearance, with luster the can vary from vitreous to dull.

Blue Aragonite is most commonly blue, ranging from pale blue to a deep turquoise shade. However, it can be found in other colors such as white, brown and green, depending on the impurities within the crystal.

It is the same stone as Caribbean Calcite as Blue Aragonite as a name is actually inaccurate. The blue in Blue Aragonite is actually blue calcite and the Aragonite only makes up the white and tan lines found within the stone. So, Caribbean Calcite and Blue Aragonite are the same stone, just different names.
