Azurite is a soft, deep-blue copper mineral produced by weathering of copper ore deposits.
During the early 19th century, it was also known as chessylite, after the type locality at Chessy-les-Mines near Lyon, France.
The color and intensity of azurite are characteristics of copper.
Malachite is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral. It is an opaque, green-banded mineral that most often forms botryoidal, fibrous or stalagmitic masses.
Malachite is often found with azurite, goethite and calcite. Except for its vibrant green color, the properties of malachite are similar to azurite’s. Malachite is more common than azurite.
Benefits
Azurite Malachite is a powerful meditation stone. It encourages curiosity and reduces anxiety. It helps us see people in a kind light, recognizing goodness instead. It refreshes our thinking when we are stuck and encourages us to shake off lazy habits and try something new. It also pushes us to take action and increases flexibility in our approach to life.
