Ametrine, also known as trystine or bolivianite (trade name), is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It’s a mixture of amethyst and citrine with zones of yellow/orange and purple. The color zones differ in visibility based on the oxidation states of the iron within the crystal. The citrine segments have oxidized iron while the amethyst segments have unoxidized iron.
